and then relax.... aaaah
The colour tones of an image (or set of images) are something I've been trying to nail down for a little while - like 10 years. Recently I've been doing a serious amount of groundwork in my processing workflow that is purely focused on baby & child portraiture. With my wife being a painter, I really wanted to move to a more 'painterly' look and feel and bring some echoes of historic portrait paintings to my work.
Hope you like this image - it's a rework of one done some months ago but I hope you can see what I'm trying to do. Do you like? Leave a comment
Marie and Sam were lucky enough to have the best wedding car I have ever seen!
What an amazing summer so far. I've photographed the wonderful weddings of some pretty spectacular people and the studio has been nice and busy with both babies and families coming in for fun photo shoots. Little ones who are eligible can choose to enter Baby of the Month, a national competition. Here's the two entries for this month, vote for both :)
It's Baby of the Month time again, how fast time flies! I have submitted 3 entries this month so take a look and vote your favourite to help the parents win.
Remember that only LIKES count not reactions and of course that LIKES is not the only criteria, they will also be judged by a panel of other photographers and Mums!
Don't forget that if your baby is under 1 year old you too can enter. Simply come along to a baby shoot and choose your favourite photograph. Every entry supports the David Sheldrick Trust in their work with orphan elephants.
Last week I completed my first proper dog portrait shoot. I think photographing children for ten years has finally given me the patience required for a good pet portrait. They are challenging, entertaining and, based on these results, I hope you agree they can be very rewarding!
Let me know what you think and if you know someone who may be interested in having their pet photographed please share!
Thanks to Dusty and her owner Carl for being up for a laugh..
A couple of weeks ago I was asked to help out the very talented Abi Hammond in photographing her latest creation for entry in to a national hair stylist competition. Model Crystal and the girls worked hard to achieve a fantastically styled shoot and some great photos! Fingers crossed that Abi makes it through to the next stage.
Special thanks to Crystal for modelling for us :)
March is the first month I have entered images into the National Baby of the Month competition. It's really easy to enter, simply come along to a photo shoot with you baby and during the viewing process you can select your favourite to be entered.
This month I have 5 awesome entries (out of approximately 300) to choose from so please select your favourite, like and share the image or this post if you like. The winners are selected by number of likes (not comments or reactions), a panel of photographers and a panel of Mums!
5 Winners receive a £100 Mothercare voucher and could win £5000 in the Baby of the Year!
Please vote using the LIKE button only and don't forget to share!
Reactions do not count.
A fantastic chance to WIN!
I'm delighted to now offer clients the possibility of winning up to £5000 in this wonderful national portrait competition called Baby of the Month. Any baby (under 12 months) who comes in for a shoot can enter and there are 5 monthly winners, each receiving £100 Mothercare vouchers. There is also an annual prize of £5000 for the Baby of the Year!
With so many cute Island babies around this should be easy right!
I've photographed lots of weddings at Osborne House over the years and so it was great to be asked to show off some of my photographs at their showcase on Sunday. I couldn't be there in person but left lots of business cards out, which all disappeared!
If you fancy a stunning portrait of your beloved pet then please get in touch as I need to develop my portfolio further and can offer you a great deal! 01983 898605
It's short and sweet!
So I recently ran an great give away on Facebook and boy was it popular. Can't wait to meet the luck winner and present them with their favourite image as a beautiful Art Panel.
